That is, who got diagnosed with juvenile RA? (sometimes adults get the diagnosis, too)

I was diagnosed at age 10 (now 49).

Thought we'd could compare notes.

I was diagnosed with it when I was 2 years old. I am now 27. Because of it I have already had both of my hips replaced and my left shoulder replaced as well. JRA or any form or arthritis is no laughing matter.

How do you handle yours? Therapy? Meds? When was your last flare up? I just had one in my knees last month. Had to use my cane all month. Wow. It is nice to know I am not alone. Of course, I am sorry that others have to deal with this awful disease but it helps to talk with others that have the similar experiences.

Keep your chin up! :gvibes:

I am very lucky in that I haven't yet had to have any joints replaced. I started out with hands going to sleep at night, had to hang them over the bottom of the bed to sleep. Then knees swelled up. Then the next winter my feet and ankles hurt so bad I had to use crutches. Eventually they ruled out everything BUT J. RA.

I was left with alot of residual joint damage but the worst pain now is in my feet. I have to take care of my feet.

And most of them are not fatal. And there's alot of treatment out there. You're still young; find out what's going on so it doesn't get alot worse. Please see a doctor and tell him/her everything.

Good luck, I'll be thinking of you.
