Please send good vibes, prayers, wishes....My 12 year old Husky Nick has developed a growth under his shoulder. It looks horrible and grew very quickly. He's going in for surgery tommorow morning. I'm just sick over it. My two dogs are my only real family. He's such a good boy. Please don't let it be bad news.

Thank you so much. That's actually Nick's brother, Coty. Nick is just as handsome but black and white.

My dog had cancer too, but the lumps she had were fat deposits. She had them on her ribs and stuff. They felt like golf balls. Heres hoping and praying that they are also fat deposits. Let us know. Good luck.

I am sorry to hear of Nick having to have surgery. Hopefully it won't be cancer. I went threw this in January with one of our cats. She had surgery and is doing great now tho. Even gaining weight.
I will keep you both in my thoughts and prayers!
Keep us updated.

Well I got his results back.....He has Myxosarcoma. From what the vet told me it is not the type of cancer that spreads to other organs. At least that is good news, I guess. It seems it was on top of a fatty tumor, which is kind of strange. He has quite a long jagged incision, but he seems to be feeling better every day. It's hard to keep him from trying to run or climbing the stairs ( to lie on the bed, of course!) The vet said to watch the area, if it reoccurs it will be in the same place. I'm still really worried. At least it is not all through him. That was really worrying me. Has anyone else had this disease with their dog? I would love to get more info on it. I can't seem to find much on the internet. Know any good medical or vet sites? Thanks again for all your kindness and prayers.

I hope your doggie is better soon and that this does NOT come back. My brother in law had a beagle with cancer -- he had chemo and he lived for more than 6 years longer till he was an old guy. I do not know what type of cancer it was, but there is great hope since Nick's type is not one that spreads easily. :hugs:
