Here is another update from Logan's mom!
Hey All-

i just want to update you all on Logan. We were able to bring him home. He is doing o.k. Too well he is back to his same old self trying to wrestle and climbing on the furniture. He has not even missed a beat. We are totally amazed at his strength. All the specialists that have seen him cannot believe he walked away from this with just a few bumps and bruises. We have a follow up in two weeks with the pediatrician and the general surgeon, They will see how things are after the swelling has gone down. He is truly a miracle baby. I saw the whole thing and there is now way he could have walked out of this as well as he has. The lady did not see him at all so she did not even apply the brakes, she hit him head on. And then kept driving because she thought she had hit a skate ramp. Logan rolled under her front passenger tire and she ran over his body with her front and rear tire. She said it did not register she had hit something else until she saw me in the rear view mirror picking Logan up off the street. It was horrible. Andrew also saw the whole thing. HE is asking a lot of questions and we are trying to be as open and talk about it all the time. Tim and I have visited with the lady that him she has been to the hospital a number of times to see Logan and bring him gifts she is truly very sorry. Tim and I have both forgiven her and prayer for her everyday. We hope you all can find it in your hearts to do the same. I will keep in touch and let you all know as we get new news how things are going. We so appreciate all your prayers and concerns. We have truly felt love and support from all of you. We have been so blessed and we notice our Heavenly Father's's hand in this tragedy and are very mindful of him and very grateful to him for sparing Logan's life. We love you all and are thankful we have such a great support group.

Hi all,

I just received an awful phone call. A friend's 2 year old son was run over by a car, and is in very bad shape. His heart, liver, and intestines were crushed, and his eye is detached due to broken bones in his face.

It would mean a lot if you could lift up little Logan in prayer, or light a candle, or send positive vibes his way. He is just a baby, and is suffering so much. His family and friends' hearts are breaking.

Thank you,

Shana

2/04/05 UPDATE!!!

I can only say a miracle has occured. This morning Logan woke up, and started bouncing around like a normal two-year-old boy. The nurses were shaken, the doctors were AMAZED, and Logan should be coming home tomorrow!

Last night his heartbeat was irregular, and they expected him to go into cardiac arrest. This is a boy who was not expected to live until morning. Keep in mind he sustained serious damage, and was considered critical.

The eye that was detached? Yesterday the opthamologist was scheduling surgery as soon as he was able to tolerate it. Today, he rechecked it prior to reserving the OR, and the eye IS COMPLETELY ATTACHED again.

The bones in his face that were broken...well, although the X-rays from the day of the accident show multiple fractures, this morning his face was so improved that they ordered more testing, which now shows only one tiny crack in the bone underneath his eye. There is no rational explanation for this.

Today's MRI showed healthy organs, and his EKG is absolutely fine. He does have tire marks and TONS of bruises, (the neighbor's car backed completely over him) but no longer seems to be in excruciating pain.

I am so humbled by the power of prayer right now. Thank you everyone, for your well-wishes and healing vibes. I am overwhelmed and ecstatic. And a HUGE thank you from Desiree, Logan's mom. She is astounded by your kindness.

We're There With You

Here's a prayer for someone I'll never really know.
It's just old words in prayer in which our spirits grow.
Though there be trials and hurt we cannot feel,
We say this prayer for you with all our tired zeal.

You do not know our face nor you our forelorn lives
when all is pain and nothing in us thrives
we hope you will remember we said these words so worn
when you were needy and we, faraway, were feeling just as torn

We'll never know your troubles or sense the real pain.
We have known the feeling when tears go down a drain.
So if you're in a darkness you won't see me there,
But I'll be down the block a ways saying my little prayer.

I have kept returning to this in hopes of an update and that little Logan was hanging on but never in my wildest dreams did I dare think or hope for what is a genuine medical miracle.

Coming home tomorrow is beyond imagining! Terrible as this has been for Logan, Desiree and all of you, I feel for those neighbors and can only imagine their relief at this point.
