Alrighty, I'm sitting in front the computer but it's going to be a short sit.
Had surgery last Thursday and I received 4 pages of well wishes, you all are so awesome.
When I woke up I noticed the surgery had taken about 3 hours longer than planned. Doc told me they ended up having to take my ovaries and lymph nodes also, which really bummed me out. I am NOT ready to start menopause at 42.
He said the ovaries looked bad, he's not saying cancerous, but he didn't want to chance it. He said the lymph nodes looked good, but that would be where the cancer spread to first and since he was nervous already about the ovaries...
So the next few days were a little rough. I'm not a medical person, so I don't really understand this, but on Saturday my hemoglobin dropped from 12 to 6, and I guess that means a possible bleed? So they gave me two units of blood which brought it up to 9. Doc was pretty honest, he said he had no idea why that happened because I showed no signs of a bleed. I have no idea how he can tell, my stomach is twice it's normal size, I'm black and blue and hurt like heck, but he's the doc. :)
I ran a fever around 102 most of the time, but finally on Monday it came down to 99 so they let me come home. I was SO glad. I feel so much better being able to be around friends and family and in my own surroundings. I walked to the end of the driveway today, took me about 15 minutes, but it felt pretty good. I was shot for the next few hours though! :smile9:
So, on Friday I meet with my physician and she will tell me the pathology results. Lying if I say I'm not a tad bit nervous, but I'm more on the side of positive than nervous. On Monday I have my staples out.
I sat here a tad longer than I planned on, but it feels good to be back. Keep me in your thoughts, and I'll try to log on once a day or so.
Hugs to everyone!
