I go today for a c/t scan to find out if this knot on my belly is a hernia. I've had horrible pain the past few days and the gyno thinks i need another surgery to remove it. Please keep me in your thoughts that this turns out ok.. I just had my 9th surgery in march last year and the thought of another one scares me to death!

I have a hernia I just live with. I had pain, but the hernia was just an incidental fidning. I had my galbladder out. Hope yours is fine, as well!

hernia repair is usually a pretty simple operation. Of course, I hope you won't have to have an operation at all, but it is usually one that most surgeons seem to be very proficient about.

Man I feel for you. I had a hernia in my groin and it was extremely painful. In fact, I felt relief immediately after it was repaired. My surgery was out patient and recovery time depends on where the hernia is located. Also ask if you can get it reinforced so that the chances of it retearing is slim. I hope you feel better soon.

I had the C/T scan done.. wont know exact results until the doc calls me but the radiologist kinda let me know that it might be a cyst on the intestine instead of a hernia... I have an appt with a GI doc on tues. Thanks so much for the support.. will keep ya posted!

Sending you my thoughts and prayers. Hopefully itwon't be too bad. My DH had hernia surgery 3 years ago and a growth removed from his testicles and he was back at work 10 days later. ( and he does streneous work.) The first 24 hours were difficult for him( a good bit of pain) ( and I had to fight to get him to take a pain pill) but he did extremely well! He only missed 4 days of work (the only work he has missed since he started working at 15) and 7 days after surgery we went to the beach for 5 days. He took 4 days off work right before vacation week. I hope you will be as fortunate. Course everbody knows women can take pain a LOT better than men. Will be thinking of you. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
