View Full Version : Not Meant to Offend...

Dear Members,
It has come to my attention that in a past response to a post, I offended a member with a one word response.
My comment was not meant to offend. We all know each other through our posts; to the degree that our personalities emerge through these writings, and based upon the recipient's unique circumstances and sensibilities, a perception is made as to the writer's thoughts and motives.
I am a member of the forum to learn about new sweepstakes and contests, share my knowledge, information and enthusiasm, and to have fun. I do nothing here, or elsewhere, with malice.

TeddyGraham, (I love those cute, little chocolate bears...)
Anyway, even if Brent closed registration so there could be no new members, wouldn't he have to close his entire site to outside traffic to do what you suggest? How would he benefit from having a website if no one could get in but just us lucky folks?
Here is my basic philosophy: The more you give, the more you get. When we start keeping everything for ourselves, everything starts to dry up. We share nothing-we get nothing. I believe, speaking of staying pure in heart, that if you are really meant to obtain something through winning a sweepstakes, you're going to win no matter how many other people enter.
Look at iwon.com. I have a kazillion entries in that site. Someone comes in everyday and racks up 5 points instead of the daily hundred and they win. How can I explain that to myself? I have to believe it was their turn to win and not mine.
Oh, and the odds of me winning the BassPlayer Giveaway last year? Astronomical! Unlimited mail-ins allowed, plus I couldn't enter daily because we'd moved from Florida to NJ and I didn't have constant access to a computer for awhile. Then-Woo-Hoo! So it happens.
Your big day will come, Teddy. Be persistent. Have faith.

Hi, guys!
My philosophy pretty much concurs with Mare's.....I strongly believe that the more we share, the more we win; my sweeping career has shown me that time and time again. And, it's so true; if it is your time to win, a million extra entries won't impact that. I've said this before, so I repeat: My odds of winning any contest are exactly 50/50; either I will win.....or I won't.
Good luck to all of us!

My 2 cents! :D
I like fresh blood...the more the merrier. It's MORE sweeps for them to find and bring home to US. :) :) :) This site is and was open to all. That's as it should be.
I also believe in the "luck" thing. Sometimes you just know you're going to win and you do. One time we entered a drawing for a color TV at a computer store, and the evening of the drawing my hubby said: "Get off the phone, they're trying to call me that I won the TV." Yes, he did win it. :D And yes, they did call that night.
Another time I was at a casino and they were having a sweepstakes drawing for $500 cash, and a whole bunch of lesser prizes. I KNEW I was going to win the $500. (It was still odds of like 1 in hundreds.) And yes, I won.
When you're lucky, you're lucky. No rhyme or reason.

Well, good karma paid off today, just one day after spreading good karma elsewhere. I was notified of a second chance win by Mardenkane from the Windows XP Instant Win #2 Second Chance Sweeps. I don't know what it is yet, but I assume that in a few weeks I will know. Mardenkane is usually pretty good about getting prizes out after they notify you. Any other winners from this sweep?
