If anyone who knows Paul can get this message to him, tell him to not feel the SLIGHTEST tinge of guilt at KEEPING the GOLD MEDAL. It was obvious he was worthy of it, Some PENALTIES were noted on review of the tapes that would have made the Korean Bronze winner have a lower score were ALSO noted, but they aren't complaining that Korean Bronze winner had enough DEDUCTIONS, only that he didn't get the proper "starting score." If they REVERSE the incorrect starting number, they should also RETRACT points that SHOULD HAVE BEEN DEDUCTED FROM Korean's score, but weren't.
PAUL GOT IT and DESERVED IT, because he wins if BOTH RULES ARE THROWN OUT or IF BOTH RULES ARE ENFORCED!
He would have gotten it if the DEDUCTIONS had also been Added, as per what the experts ALSO noticed post-race.
HE DESERVES IT, STOP MAKING HIM FEEL BAD FOR HAVING BEEN AWARDED IT and INSULTING HIM BY ASKING FOR IT BACK!
Have some class, Olympic Committee! Athens has been a really CLASSY Olympics up to this point, please don't wreck it!!

AMEN!!!
I am amazed that the Gymnastics organization would even have the gall to ask Paul Hamm to return the gold medal. Nothing like an organization that has so many flaws in its own judging system, pointing the finger at someone else to make them look better!

I totally agree !!!
Paul EARNED that medal, and should NOT have to give it back.
I wish they would just leave him alone and show him some
respect and let him enjoy his medal he earned.

Amen Toad.
The olympics are rife with questionable judging. Also there is a buddy system whereby people who are unknown or rebels will be punished
Mom said for me to watch the Olympics. My 15 minutes were of watching Hamm being booed.
The host country is acting like a bunch of bleacher bums that polished off all the oozo in town before coming to the games. I have never seen such an unruly, uncouth, mean spirited bunch of whiners.

Paul Keep your Gold you deserve it. If the IOC feels bad let them award another gold to the korean gymnast.

Instead of suggesting Hamm take the high road, why doesn't South Korea?
South Korea's coach's were the ones that did not address the scoring error in the time they are alloted for that purpose (ie before the end of the rotation). They should know the rules.
It's time for South Korea to take the high road and admit that their not being dilegent allowed the scoring error to become official in accordance with the rules.

i just can't believe they are putting all the pressure on him. they are taking the low road by pretty much placing the blame on him...and i think that sucks. when this controversy first began, i quoted one official (or was it an olympic committee member?) who said that paul got more than he deserved. huh? isn't it great when people blame the victor for getting the gold? the whole mess stinks to high heaven and now paul will have this little sims diamond hanging over his head that indicates one should boo for him in future world competitions, as if he's the one to blame for the scoring foul-up.
he won't give it up...of that, i'm pretty sure. he's stated it more than enough times, so... we'll go with that. yeah.

Keep the medal Paul!!! I think the South Koreans are a bunch of whiners, along with Svetlana Khorkina! I think if you lose you ought to just suck it up, the Koreans are really poor sports in my opinion. I am glad Paul kept the medal and stood up for himself. If I won a gold medal that I worked my whole life for I definetly wouldn't be giving it to anyone!!! I can't believe that anyone even suggested for Paul to give it to the Korean. I also think it's unfair that one night of competition decides who wins! I mean the best gymnast should win, what if they have been perfect for 4 years prior to the Olympics and than have one misstep at the games and lose. That's not fair. They should have a series of competitons to decide who wins. And this new 3 up 3 count also sucks. I mean the best team should win and with the 3 up 3 count you don't need depth or consistancy, you just need luck. The old format was much more fair. Well that is my 2 cents anyways
