is awesome. We're still using 7.0 at work and at home but someone in my office has 8.0cs at home and loves it. The new features seem incredible also. Love to get hold of it also.

I didn't realize that there was such a big difference between 7.0 and 8.0. I am still using 7.0.

I don't have any version and my friends who are graphic designers say to buy 8.0 CS. I'm clueless, but since I'll end up having to pay $310 for a class to learn to use the software I'm hoping not to have to pay full price for the software.

the new one which is not an upgrade from an existing program goes for around $600. If you can get hold of an old version and just buy the upgrade it goes for $170 or so. Expensive either way but worth it if you're going to use it.

Not being savvy with PhotoShop does this look like a good buy. Would I need to buy anything else besides this?

it's a good deal if you qualify as indicated in the posting. I don't know anything about the educational software sales for cheaper prices deal but the price is good and this is indeed the full version of the software and not the upgrade (according to the post). That means you don't need anything other than that software.
