There are a couple of birthdays coming up here and I want to see your best recipes for cake frosting/icing. I always make it the same way and I am looking for something different. Thanks!

8 oz cream cheese,
5 tbls. butter,
2 - 2 1/2 cups powdered sugar, sifted,
Cut cold cream cheese into smaller cubes, have butter at room. temp., mix about 1/3 of ingredients at a time until smooth. add lemon or orange zest, or other flavoring. Do not over mix.keep refrigerated.
With small amt of leftover frosting, add couple of drops foodcoloring, mix, put in sm. baggie, cut small tip off corner, squeeze, and add simple designs, swirls, etc. Practice first on strip of wax paper. Easy, nice flavor.

I add a layer of jam between my layers of cake instead of frosting it keep my cakes very moist.

You could melt a whole bunch of caramels and pour it over a chocolate cake and sprinkle it with baking m&ms. It's really good!
