View Full Version : Charlie's Tuna Mac and Cheese

This is a StarKist family-tested and mother-endorsed tuna recipe, one of several recipes we asked mothers to try in their homes. Their families found it so delicious, even picky kids loved it. Busy mothers really appreciated the short preparation time.

1 (7 1/4 ounce) box Macaroni and Cheese Dinner
1 (12 1/2 ounce) can StarKist tuna, drained and chunked
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 cup frozen green peas
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1 tablespoon Parmesan cheese

1. Prepare macaroni and cheese according to package directions.
2. Mix in remaining ingredients, except Parmesan cheese. Pour into a 1 1 /2 quart microwaveable serving dish.
3. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on High for 2 minutes. Stir casserole and continue heating on High for 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes or until cheese is melted and mixture is heated through.
4. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.

Preparation time: 20 minutes. Makes 5 to 6 servings.

I always eat tuna with mac and cheese! But my "recipe" is to dump a can of tuna on the plate next to the mac and cheese. LOL!

yeah, I know, I always did that too! But I found this and it's soooooo much better. one of those old 'back of the box' recipes.... :yum:
