I watched 1hr 15 min of this movie and I thought it was crappy and just plain stupid. I'm a big Stephen King movie fan .. I have liked all past movies but my gosh this one was horrible , it didn't make sense ! Anyone else share my views?

His books are always much better than any of his movies. IMHO

I liked it!
He is such a graphic writer that I am often disappointed in his movies
(but still go to see them!.)
Seems I get this "minds eye" view of how things/people/places/monsters (!) should look!
I can't wait to see it next week!
Sick to death of cheesy reality shows! :nono:

It will take a few more shows for me to get a couple of things that happened last night. What is that creature ant-eater thing and why is he there? I may have to go get the book and read it. I am not a big Stephen King fan, but I love ghost stories and this will keep me hooked for awhile.

The show is a lot like one of his books for me. It takes a little while to get going, but you have to pay attention or subsequent events won't make sense. I agree that at times it was a bit slow, but Stephen King likes to build up to things. I'm hoping that's what's going to happen here. I remember being bored silly the first few chapters of The Tommyknockers, but it turned out to be one of my favorites. And come on, television needs more killer, talking aardvarks don't ya think?
Oh, and I just want to slap that wife. Something about her just gets under my skin.

We watche dit lst night. You have to wonder what kind of drugs the King was on when he wrote this! I understand that the story line started after his accident.
Here is my :twocents: It was very slow in developing. I think it would not have got very good reviews if they had only aired the first episode and not the first two. I would have preferred they edited into a 2 hr premiere episode so that it would have flowed better. But I guess the problem with doing that is, it would be hard to live up to the "premeire" movie with only an hour show every week.
That ant eater is a real trip :smile9: But I'm not sure its a "badguy" rather one of the "good guys" Guess we'll have to wait and see. I will be tuning in again next time.

I think King's writing is getting worse and worse(not that he was a good writer to start with.) I didn't watch this and haven't watched his garbage since I was a kid... :twocents:

I am not positive but I don't think he wrote the story I think he did an adaptation of another screenplay. I thought I saw in the credits the writing was done by two other men and the adaptation was by Steven King. I didn't like the talking anteater - otherwise I will continue to watch just to see what happens - although I watched all of Rose Red and then was extremely extremely disappointed by the ending. I still love Steven King though. :D

I, too, think he adapted someone else's work because the book that was shown at the end didn't have King's name on it.

This is the link to the show on ABC's website. It was adapted from a foreign book.

Only watched about a hour. The book wasn't written by King. I forgot the authors name. King took her story of the hospital then added his story to it. The ant eater thing wasn't in the book. The book was ok, not great.

I watched it too. Some of it seems pretty stupid while other parts were actually really good. I don't really care for some of the names he came up with. Johnny B Goode and Dr Hook. LOL!
I can't imagine hiring let alone keeping the security guard they have that sleeps and reads or having a dog in a hospital so those parts seems a lot way out there!

Stephen King did not write Kingdom Hospital,it was originally a Danish miniseries called The Kingdom in the mid 90s and he adapted it from that with some characters from the mini series and some new characters.

It didn't hold my interest, and I was somewhat disappointed, but it did have some of my favorite actors in it. I did think the scene with the artist getting hit and the aftermath was well done.
I will probably tune in again next week to see if I like it. :gvibes:
