Has anyone been able to figure out a way to refill the Swiffer WetJet cleaner bottle with your own cleaner? I think the refill bottles are too expensive and a rip-off.
The only thing I've come up with is once the bottle is empty, just leave it in its upside down position in the Swiffer and put a small hole in the bottle and fill it.
Does anyone have a better way? I can't get the cap off the bottle without ruining it.

I've never used the Swiffer WetJet, but a search found that others are wondering the same thing as you. Most ended up just using a spray bottle filled with cleaner in one hand as they mopped, but your idea sounds like the better choice. :gvibes:

I have a swiffer wet jet and I never thought of refilling the bottle. Thanks for enlightening me. I would just buy a new one and grip about the price. My only complaint with it is the pad doesn't pick up all the dirt. Have you had the same problem or is it just the person operating the mop- me.

I don't have the swiffer, I've got the clorox clean up one and can easily refill the bottles. I'm sure that Swiffer designed it that way to keep you buying their stuff. Unfortunately I don't have any suggestions other than those already mentioned.

I was just reading on another site that I go to that people put a hole in the bottom of the bottle and refilled them. They used their favorite cleaner and diluted it with water first and then put ducktape over the hole.
I just bought a swiffer wet jet last week and I love it. But I haven't had to buy a refill bottle yet. I will probably try to refill it instead of buying a replacement.
