Hi guys,
The only thing I've heard about the Grand Prize event was that I'd be getting the details real soon and that it will probably be held at the local radio station, WTUE in Dayton, and not in San Diego. As of yet, I haven't received the details and I don't know anything more about it. But as soon as I do, you all will be the first to know.
I'd like to thank everyone who entered in support of our OLS tree. Without everyone's support, myself and the other 601 winners from our site couldn't have won. I think it says a lot about our community, and I couldn't be prouder. And a big congratulations go out to all the winners! :)
There seems to be a lot of confusion with some people thinking they were indeed among the first 600 to join our OLS tree.
PJ, the same guy from Clear Channel who answers questions about the money tree contest through email, has been kind enough to take the time and effort to answer and explain most of the questions concerning the contest here in the Announcement forum.

Please make sure you read it if you have any questions or concerns about the money tree contest.
Here's what I know:
There was another money tree called OLS. I didn't realize there was another OLS money tree until after I created my OLS tree. By then, there wasn't anything I could do about it. I don't know whose tree it was and I don't know if links to join it were posted somewhere on this site.
I do know that before I created my OLS tree there were quite a few individuals creating their own money trees and inviting other OLS members to join them in the Referral and Vote Requests forum. A couple of days after they began appearing, I realized that the only way any of us were going to have a shot of winning was to create one, all-inclusive tree for everyone on the entire site to join. I then created my OLS tree and announced it in the Referral and Vote Requests forum. It was at least 2 days before I added the link anywhere else on the site, therefore most of the first 600 must have registered after clicking on a link in the OLS forums to join our tree within the first couple of days that it was posted.
I do not have a list of everyone or the first 600 people who joined my OLS money tree.
As far as I know, the only place where anyone was told what place they were in the money tree was the confirmation/thank-you page you saw after joining the tree. A lot of people were confused by the meaning of "player rank" which you could see by logging-in and in the daily/weekly contest updates that were sent out by email. The "player rank" was where you ranked in the money tree in which you were a member based on how many referrals to the tree you had made. Most everyone in my OLS tree was tied for #98 because they had no actual referrals. You could get referrals by inviting others to join the OLS money tree with the link you were provided in the money tree pages (refer a friend).
PJ, our friend from Clear Channel, noticed the same thing:

The first 600 people who joined the OLS tree that I created and the last person that joined it won because we ended up with the largest tree. I won the chance at the million dollars because I referred the most people to join a tree, which happened to be the same one I created for OLS. They're two different things (the number of members in a money tree and the number of referrals an individual makes).
