:sherlock: Ok, I just got this call from this Indian guy who's "looking for a date". Said he got my name from some dating service on line. He had my name, address, phone number, birthday, email address.....only he couldn't remember what site he got it from. I've been married...happily married for almost 20 years! It's kind of freaking me out that this guy has all my info and is calling me at home! My husband's gonna freak! Has anyone else had this happen to them? Anyone have any ideas on how I can find out what site this is coming from. BTW I have NEVER signed up at any of those kind of sites! HELP

Google your name and see if you can find it that way! If you get any other calls, get your phone number changed. Maybe it was just a joke, maybe a friend playing a practical joke on you?

google, dogpile one of those may catch it.. some scummy site may have sold your name to a dating service. I used to always get those "we know someone who likes you" emails and ive NEVER belonged to a dating service!!

You probably were very clear to him, but if he calls again tell him again, in no uncertain terms, that you are not interested and to not call you again. Most people would take the hint and drop it. But if he is a stalker type and continues to call, get a tracer put on your phone to track his phone calls. If he continues calling you can prosecute him with the proof that he has been calling you.
A few years back a guy repeatedly called myself and a few other women from my town. It was very creepy. He said he had met me at a bar that I had never gone to. He got jail time. I got caller id.
I would also add that most stalkers will not approach their target person, that they are lonely, socially handicapped individuals.
My husband was very supportive and I hope your husband will be too.

Oh my, That would freak me out too, and probably my husband as well. I would also get caller ID. and if he continues to call you I would put a trace on the phone. How freaky. I would be so upset if he had all my information too. Good luck and I hope he stops calling you, I would also make sure you tell your husband about the phone call, so he won't be upset if this guy should call again, and says something (lies) to your husband...

I do have caller id. It listed the number but said unknown name. I usually answer the phone just in case it might be a sweeps win. He seemed nice enough to not call again but I just wish i knew where he got a hold of my info.

Very creepy. Something similiar happened to me years ago. He got my info from my AOL account. I told him that I was reporting him to AOL and never heard from him again. I would definitely report it to your phone company. Good luck!!!

Ewwwwww! That does make my skin crawl. Maybe it is just some fool amusing himself with prank calls, or making random calls trying to hook up with some silly woman. I hope you never hear from him again. I think you should tell your hubster about it, just in case.

Whoa, that is creepy! It's scary that so much of our personal info is just floating around out there for anyone to use. Keep safe and best of luck to you in finding the source.
