My family and I are wanting to go to Disneyworld this year, and we are trying to figure out the best time of year to go. I was hoping I would win a trip, but no such luck! (LOL). We don't really want to go during the summer, because we figure it will be really crowded. Does anyone know when the best time to go would be?
Thanks in Advance.

in my opinion the best time to go to the mouse house is while school children are still in school Blue Angel
the summer months at the mouse house is a very busy crowded time of the year there
the holidays are very very busy also
so i would say if you wanted less crowds there go jan-may or sept to dec but not on any of the holidays during those times

I've been to DW 3 times in August and once in March. Both times have their good and bad points.
In summer, it's really, really hot, but the parks are open from early till late. After the last time I was there in August, I said no more. I could hardly take the heat.
I really ennjoyed going in March. Parks are open shorter hours, but the lines aren't nearly as long, and it's not nearly as crowded.
You'll have fun! I use the Birnham official guide books, and the unofficial guidebook to plan my Disney Trips. Wish I could go back to Disneyland. They were just building the California Adventure last time I was there.
The last trip to DW in August that we did, we first stayed over by Universal and spent a couple days there having fun, too. :gvibes:

Just remember, in the summer it is going to be HOT!! Waiting in line in super humidity is not my idea of a great time. :frown3:
We went in March 2001, had wonderful weather and had an awesome time. Warm weather was just what we needed. Some people told us it would be too crowded beause of spring break, but it was not bad. I've heard the 2 weeks around Easter (week before and the week after) are the most crowded in spring.
I didn't want to take my kids out of school for a week, but if that doesn't bother you then taking the trip in May would be good. Not as crowded and still not too hot. A good book to help you decide all this stuff is "The Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World" by Bob Sehlinger.
Also for money saving discount codes, take a look at www.mousesavers.com.
Can you tell I'm planning another Disneyworld trip?

Best times to go are in January, February and March. Laso we have had good luck going after THanksgiving and early December. DO NOT go in the summer because it is soooo hot and hellish. We made the mistake of going in late AUgust once and it was unbearable.

I've been in both mid-March and early November. November was perfect - low crowds, great weather, but that is hit or miss that time of the year. March was nice also, just a bit more crowded and actually, a bit cooler. I spent months planning our last trip at a great messageboard where you can find an answer to pretty much any question. Here is the URL is you want to check it out.

We went down between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Off season rates and not crowded at all.
Whenever you do go have a great time! :jump:

We just went this past October. It was great! Not too hot, hardly any lines and you can take the kids trick or treating there! We went the weekend before halloween. But it looks like you've already made up your mind :) Gosh, I'm slow  Anyway, have lots of fun and take lots of pictures :cool2:

We went the first week of October this past fall. Was told that it wouldnt be very crowded, but was busier than anticipated because a lot of people from Canada were there. Seems they closed all the schools because of a bicycle race. Weather was beautiful!! No lines at the attractions. Magic Kingdom was the most crowded of any of the 4 parks. My MIL swears March is the best time to go, so in 2006 we will be going that month.

Hey there, I've lived in central FL 8 years, but when I was in high school, my family took us to DW in JULY! :worry: I remember how LONG the lines were, how HOT it was. I mean, if you have to go in summer, you have to! BUT if you can go before May, you will enjoy it 10X more I would be willing to bet almost for sure. Just like the others say, you want to go, when kids are IN school...I went to MGM Studios (1 of 5 Disney parks to choose from) 2 weeks ago... the lines were awesomely short... it rocked! If you could go even like you said in March, or April (ASIDE from the week of EASTER or before), I would go then. The weather is at the nicest then. Hope you get to go and have loads of fun! :cool2:
