AARGH! Computer was hijacked!!!!

I just spent like 2 hours at work trying to get rid of a hijacking program!! :mad2: I have no idea where it came from and how I got it but when I came in, my default browser page was different. I had all these new weird programs on my computer and I still have pop-ups up the wazoo. (OMG, that sounds dirty - tee hee) Anyway, I had to download Ad-aware and run it a few times before I got everything off - I hope. I even had to go into the registry folder and delete stuff from there because it wouldn't come off. Suffice it to say, I am a little frustrated. Needed to vent. Thanks for putting up with my tantrum.

I read there is a virus that just works with popup ads. I got hit and I couldnt close screens fast enough to do anything. Finnaly had to shut off the computer.

There's a new virus. Your employer should have anti-virus software. Can you do an anti-virus scan?

You have a firewall, don't you? If not, get one immediately. I've settled on McAfee and I think it works well.

Isn't it amazing what Ad-aware finds?

Weird how that happens, huh? I've had it happen a handful of times before and I find it odd... as I dont know where it comes from. Well, once or twice it was after a friend used our computer. :mad2: But I still dont know if they did anything to cause it and I certainly wouldnt point a finger to blame anyone, unless I was pretty dang sure.
