Okay I just found out about this diet (where have I been). Has anyone tried this? It sounds reasonable, I've checked out the website for it www.3appleplan.com However I would like to read the menus to see if it's something that I can do with family members that aren't needing to or wanting to lose weight. In other words no separate meals for me and no expensive ingredients to prepare.
So if anyone has any info let me know. Thanks!

I just went and checked out the website. Sounds very interesting. If you order the stuff, let us know how it works. I may just go ahead and start eating the apples before my regular meals -- it'll have to make me at least eat less of higher calorie food, right? Then maybe I won't have to use a meal plan.

I read about this plan at the doctor's office a few months ago. I think it works for so many people because the apples are so high in fiber. The fiber makes you full, so you eat less. I have been increasing my protein intake with eggs and eating lots of veggies high in fiber. I
might try this myself.

It makes a lot of sense. I often eat apples as a snack because they're so filling and healthy. I should probably eat even more of them than I do. Thanks for the post! :gvibes:

Just a word of caution: non-organic apples are high in pesticide residue. To make them safer either buy organic apples or wash and peel the skins...

Hmmm...until I went to the site I thought this was another diet. When I was a kid my family did a three day apple diet. Where you just ate apples for three days to clean out your system or detoxify yourself. Wasn't really for weight loss but this sounds pretty good. I might try eating an apple before meals. I've got a bunch from when my brother was selling them for band. along with oranges :)

Well I think this is what I'm going to do: Eat an apple before meals, I do know that they recommend doing this 30 minutes before you eat your meal. I'm also going to do what another member is doing that they posted on a thread about the Atkins diet: watch portion control, eat what you want but read the portion control guidelines on the package. Plus exercise at least 3 times a week. And have two snacks a day. I will give this plan a month and if I see a difference then I will stick with it; I should see something positive in a month's time. Okay maybe two months :) .
I'm bound and determined to make this year the best for me in many ways and my weight is one of them. I didn't lose any weight after having my second child (now 2) and my third is now 8 months old and I still haven't lost any. Of course it would help if I curb my eating and actually get off my butt  . But for some they have to get to the point of disgust with themselves before doing something and I am one of those types. I don't want my kids growing up thinking that it's okay to eat your problems away (stress, worries, etc.) and I don't want to be a big mamma. I just need to lose 50 lbs and I know that I can do it!
Thanks for listening and for the opinions! Good luck to all!

Marsha,
Go for it!! I need to lose at least 20-25 pounds myself and I have decided I am the only one who can do anything about it. I too am taking ideas from a few plans and watching portion control. I have started walking more already. We just all need to support one another!!
