Can anybody reccomend a good medium coverage foundation for $20 bucks or less? I've used Clinique before and it was pretty good, then I bought some Lancome for my birthday for $30 and I don't like it at all. The coverage is not very good at all. I'm 34, but still have occasional break outs, so I need something that will cover up blemishes. I was thinking of trying Origins next, but I don't know anyone who has used it before. Anyway, I wonder if drugstore make-up would work just as well or better. So, tell me what brand you like, it can be department store or drugstore make-up. Thanks.

I was a makeup artist for 20 plus years so I've pretty much used them all. When you are freelancing for a certain company you use their stuff of course, but at photo shoots and whatnot, I always picked Bobbi Brown Foundation stick. It goes on very smooth, you can adjust from very sheer to heavy coverage, and it won't spill in your purse. Also, I've never had a complexion I couldn't match with Bobbi Brown. A lot of people match their foundation on their hand or neck, but the best place is on your jawline - your hands are almost always a different color than your face, and if the color matches perfectly, you won't need it on your neck. It also works as a concealer on the days you want less on your face. I know you said $20 - Bobbi Brown runs about $35, but it lasts.

My mom loves Origins foundation. She wanted to buy me some for Christmas, but I just don't wear base very often at all. Anyway, you might go to Origins and let them do their thing to find out.
Good luck!

If you wanted to try a drugstore brand of foundation, I like L'Oreal, Visible Lift, Line Minimizing Make-Up with Pro-Retinol A. I get good coverage and I have sensitive skin and it does not bother me at all. It sells for about $15. And I too use to use Clinque'.

Sometimes I splurge and treat myself to Luxiva from Merle Norman. Otherwise I also love, love Revlon Colorstay. :)

I worked for Macy's Clinique for awhile and got to try all of the foundations and Chanel is by far my favorite. However, it's $40! I'll go drugstore on everything else but can't live without this one. If you have the time though, go into a department store and have different counters put foundation on you and then wear it around awhile and then choose. Pretty much everyone that I have told to try Chanel is now using it. Just love it!

I hate makeup that has a smell to it..YUK........I chose Estee Lauder double matte makeup...its 30 bucks plus a bottle but it covers blemishes and looks natural not "madeup". I also have a Estee Lauder concealer that I swear by...half your face could fall off and this stuff would make you look like a million dollars...Good Luck. :gvibes:
